Report Cards

Some people may argue that report cards are an unfair evaluation of students in a classroom, however I feel it IS fair and is a necessity. Personally, I LOVED report card night! I could not wait for my mom to get home with my straight A report card and appraisel from my teacher saying what a great student I was :) (haha, naturally I was teacher's pet!) Report cards gave me and still continues to give me a sense and feeling of accomplishment. I think it is also a great evaluation for the students themselves. There is just something about seeing all of your grades down at once that make you either want to jump for joy if they're good, or make you want to cringe and work harder to get that low grade up. Some parents even go as far as rewarding their children for good reports cards which I guess could be a nice incentive for students to work harder in school. I feel that a grade on a student's report card is fair because it is a reflection of the work a student has done throughtout the year.
