While teaching in our Tests and Measurements class, I was a little disappointed since I only had about 15 minutes; however, overall i felt the lesson went well. I chose to do a read aloud because I love language arts and I just think it's fun to read a story with the students and build an activity on it. If i was granted more time, I would have been more inquistive and asked questions throughout the book. Also, when I handed out the sentence strips for the students to put into sequential order, I would have placed them in a hanging pocket chart for the students to use to refer to in order to do the actvity.
The activity would have been nice to hang around in the classroom, as well as something for the students to keep in order to remind them about sequential order! As far as the behaviors go, I wasn't annoyed or anything because I work with kids and literally hear some of the things that are being said. For example, I caught Jaclyn before she even started to do something! At work, my eyes are always kept open for those sneaky students who think the teacher isn't looking when they really are ;)
I really enjoy doing the mock teachings beacuse you are able to get a sense of everyone's different teaching styles, ideas, and most importantly, the feedback! I like to know what I could do better or work on, and really appreciate the constructive criticism. It is also interesting to sit back and visualize the class as real life teachers.

Jen,
Your lesson was excellent!! I apologize for the limited time. Once you get into your real class, you will have ALL the time in the world!
The sentence strip activity was such a motivating one. Elementary students need lessons such as this one to meet all of their learning styles (kinesthetic, auditory, visual).
You definitely have the presence of a "real teacher".
Keep up the GREAT work!
I'd like to thank Zavier for my behavior decision that day.
I agree with you about the read-alouds. I love reading to children and then having a discussion befor an activity. It's a great way to combine a bunch of different things into one lesson.
We rock, hands down.
